Ballett Centrum Berlin

Founded in 1986, The Ballett Centrum quickly developed a reputation as a leading school for dance in Berlin. It is centrally located on the 2nd floor of Kurfürstendamm Karree. The studios are spacious and light and equipped with air-conditioning making it a wonderful centre for people of all ages to come and take a dance class. The atmosphere is open and friendly and everyone is welcome.
The variety of classes which include ballet, modern dance and jazz dance in different styles (from musical dance to modern, afro and hip-hop), street dance and tap dance is hard to beat. There is a dance class for everyone, young children, teenagers and adults.
The international faculty includes Ballett Centrum’s owner and director Christian Toberentz actor, singer, voice actor and renowned step-dancer and teacher, who took over the studio in the spring of 1994, together with the now retired Tom Fletcher. Alongside Sabine Schöttle, Christian Toberentz formed the tap dancing duo “Merciless Feet”. Other teachers include, Christopher Matt and Sara Reddig (ballet), Julia Hellmers (ballet and creative children’s dance) and Parnell Allen (Jazz). Manuel Mandon teaches a variety of jazz styles; he also directs the M. M. Dancers a commercial dance company who are in constant demand for show performances, musicals as well as television engagements.

Ballett Centrum also offers a seven semester musical educational programme which is recognized by the Senate as a private vocational college and approved for student loans (BAföG), according to § 9a. There is intensive individual development through private classes in acting, voice and singing.
