It is never too late to start dancing — or to pick it up again after a long break. At Berlin Dance Institute in Tempelhof, we offer open dance classes for adults of all ages and levels, from complete beginners to professional dancers. Whether you live in Schöneberg, Tempelhof, Mariendorf, Friedenau, or Steglitz — our studios are just a 3-minute walk from S-Bahn Südkreuz, making us one of the most accessible dance schools in southern Berlin.
Dancing is more than exercise. It improves flexibility, strength, and stamina while reducing stress. At BDI, we believe dance also builds self-confidence and emotional well-being. It simply makes you feel good.
Our classes
Berlin Dance Institute offers a wide range of open dance classes for adults:
Ballet — Classical technique for all levels, from first positions to advanced work at the barre and centre.
Contemporary — Expressive, floor-based movement exploring dynamics, weight, and space. A core strength of BDI.
Modern — Grounded technique with an emphasis on musicality and expression.
Jazz — Dynamic, energetic classes combining technical foundations with rhythm and style.
Floor Barre — A gentle, effective workout based on ballet principles, performed lying down. Ideal for improving alignment and core strength.
Body Conditioning — Strength and flexibility training designed specifically for dancers and movers.
Yoga — Mindful movement, breath work, and stretching to complement your dance practice.
Pilates — Core-focused strength and stability work for improved posture and body awareness.
All levels welcome
Whether you are a complete beginner, a re-starter, or a professional dancer — there is a class for you. Our experienced teachers know how to work with mixed levels and will help you find your own pace. All classes are taught in English.
Fees
No contract, no membership — just come and dance.
Our studios
BDI’s campus in Berlin-Tempelhof features five professional dance studios with sprung floors, full-length mirrors, sound systems, and plenty of natural light — the perfect environment for adult dance classes. Our spacious waiting area and kitchen are available for all students.
