How to apply for the audition
All students must audition to be considered for our programme. Complete the online registration form fully to ensure quick processing. All correspondence will be via email, so provide an accurate address.
Submit your CV with dance experience, a short statement about why you want to become a dance artist, two passport-sized photos (5×4 cm), and a copy of your ID or passport. A non-refundable fee is required to reserve your audition place, (bank details and fees). If you are unable to attend in person, you also have the option to audition by video.

The audition starts at 11:00 a.m. (CET)
Please arrive between 10:15 and 10:30 a.m. to register, settle in, and get ready for the day.
Tip for international applicants: Try to arrive at least one day early to rest, adjust to the time zone, and feel prepared for your audition.
What to Wear
Unitard or leotard with tights and ballet shoes
Bare feet for contemporary
Wearing extra layers for improvisation and contemporary can make floor work easier and more comfortable.
What to Expect
Key techniques that will be given:
Ballet and contemporary technique classes, plus improvisation and repertoire
Focusing on the audition itself, the key things to keep in mind are:
Physicality: show strength, flexibility, and coordination.
Musicality: move in rhythm and connnect to the music.
Creativity: bring originality to improvisation or choreography.
Critical thinking: listen, analyse, and respond to tasks quickly.
Performance under pressure: stay confident and composed, even if mistakes happen.
Basically, the faculty want to see how you move, think, and express yourself under observation, not perfection.
The audition is conducted in English, however the faculty also speak German. If English or German are not your first languages, you’re still very welcome to attend.
Results
You will receive your results within two weeks of your audition.
Accepted candidates are offered a place in the 3-year programme for the next academic year.
Shortlisted candidates will receive a final decision after all auditions are complete.
A refundable deposit is needed to confirm your place. Full details will be given once you’re accepted.

Berlin is easy to reach by air, train, or public transport.
Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) has direct flights from many major cities.
From the airport, take the FEX, RE7, or RB14 trains to central Berlin, or grab a taxi or ride-share.
Berlin’s U-Bahn, S-Bahn, buses, and trams make it simple to get around the city.

Experience Our Programme
If you are unable to attend a scheduled audition, please contact us and we will arrange a time for you to visit the school. We will invite you to spend two days on campus and get a feel for life at Berlin Dance Institute. This will enable you to train with our faculty, meet current students and experience the atmosphere of the school and the city.
