Tanz Theater Berlin was founded in 2020 by the Berlin based artist duo Lena Biallawons and Steven De Gijnst. The aim of this new company is threefold, firstly to establish innovative forms of contemporary dance for Berlin’s numerous theaters and stages. Secondly, to ensure that the city of Berlin is more visible as an outstanding location in the international dance world. Thirdly, to enrich and enlighten the public’s viewing experience.
Tanz Theater Berlin takes the time for intensive exploration, detailed processing, and precise musical and choreographic realization of unusual stories that are narrated on stage through dance. Therefore, the company focuses great importance on its special choice of music, artistic perfection and emotional expression.

The team sees diversity as a strength and places great value on versatility in the selection of its dancers.
